What is a CSA?
Hudson Ranch is a unique agricultural operation, which grows produce and raises poultry, pork and lamb in the Carneros Region of Napa Valley. Our mission is to cultivate the finest quality vegetables, meats, and eggs, using no hormones or antibiotics and farm in the most sustainable way possible. We believe that exceptional, flavorful ingredients are the key to exceptional food.
Although we have only been in operation since 2008, Hudson Ranch has become an integral supplier of produce, eggs and meat in the Napa Valley. Our products are used by local restaurants who want to use the highest quality ingredients from local providers.
Our 2014 CSA season will run from May 1st to November 6th for a total of 28 weeks. We offer one size share that consists of enough produce for a small family or 2 adults. CSA members have the benefit of shopping weekly via our online farm store where they can purchase additional items they wish to include in their weekly shares. Weekly additions may include farm fresh eggs, produce, olive oil, wine and other specialty items.
Quantities and selections will vary week to week, based on the season and what looks best in the garden, but rest assured, there will always be plenty of food in each box. All produce is harvested on Thursday mornings so that your produce is at the height of freshness.
You can expect to see some of the following items in your box, during each season:
Spring: Artichokes, Asparagus, Beans, Beets, Broccoli, Carrots, Fennel, Kale, Leeks, Lettuce, Mustard, Assorted Radishes, Spinach, Spring Onions, Turnips, Green Garlic, Rhubarb, Assorted Herbs, Swiss Chard
Summer: Plums, Assorted Herbs, Heirloom Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Assorted Peppers, Mixed Eggplant, Assorted Melon, White Corn, Beans, Green Garlic, Peaches
Fall: Shelling Beans, Beets, Figs, Winter Squash, Corn, Persimmons, Potatoes, Broccoli, Chicories, Cured Garlic, Apples
CSA shares are available for pick up from two convenient locations, our farm in Carneros or the Oxbow Produce Market in downtown Napa. In an effort to recycle and reduce waste we require our members to transfer the contents to their own bag or box.
